Sony PS3 & Sony DAV-DZ231 Connections

Hi

I have the Sony KDL-40S2530 HD TV and have just bought the Sony PS3 and, although the initial setup was fairly easy, I am having problems trying to get the best connections to my Sony DAV-DZ231 DVD Home Theatre and would like to hear from those users who can advise me of the best way to achieve Dolby 5.1ch and DTS 5.1ch sound etc from the PS3 and through all five speakers on the DZ231? Especially from those users who have a similar Sony HD TV and the same Home Theatre system and what cable(s) they used to get 5.1 surround sound from the PS3.

At the moment, I have the PS3 connected to my TV using HDMI cable and gave used the AV cable and EURO Scart connector to connect my PS3 to the SCART connector on the rear of the DZ231.

When I change the "Function" on the DZ231 remote to "TV" and then change the "Soundfield" from AFD Std through Prologic, MultiRoom, PLII etc, sound comes only from all 5 speakers and the "sub" when on Prologic and MultiRoom, but I'm not sure if it's true Dolby 5.1 sound or not.

connect an optical cable if possible and set the ps3 to bitstream.

edit:actually, looking through the user manual...it doesnt look to have any external audio port...no optical connection. So according to the specs you will not get true 5.1 audio from the PS3.
