Alright this doesn't really have to do with blu-ray at all but I'm just really excited for this movie to come out. There is a new pic of the skull from "Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" I'm very excited now, not that i wasn't before, about this movie. Have i mentioned that i'm excited?

i think this pretty much seals the deal that this movie has something to do with extraterestrial intelligence. If you read the little book from CEOT3K you would have read that Spielberg used to be obsessed with UFOs and given his past record of CEOT3K, ET, and Taken, another alien movie isn't suprising.

Hopefully they don't get too out there with this one. I always like the "Well I guess that COULD happen" aspect of the originals.

Well more relevant than some some other threads given that I'm also looking forward to seeing this on Blu-ray.

Interestingly, being an amateur archeologist, I recently did some research on crystal skulls worldwide - pretty amazing to find so many with so many variations - almost as widespread as the building of pyramids. So, yeah, good source material for an interesting movie.

Agreed. But let's not forget the total sci-fi/fantasy elements of the other 3 films. A magical ark, guys reaching into chests and pulling out hearts (with the victim alive, no less), and 900 year-old knights. Not exactly a stretch to throw in some Central American folklore about aliens using Peru as a landing strip.

I can't wait for the trailer next week

I saw Beowulf opening day just to see it and sadly it was not attached to the movie previews, I'm kind of shocked Spielberg and Lucas are just now releasing theh trailer, I mean Star Trek doesn't come out until Christmas and it has a trailer, the Dark Knight comes out after IJIV yet it has two trailers out, so hopefully patience will pay off!

only 106 days and 7 hours away!!!!!!

btw they took the image down, luckily I saw it this morning

You know, I am a huge IJ fan. However, I am not too excited about that. The other 3 were out there, but they dealt with real religious artifacts. Temple of Doom was with the Cult, still a religious theme. What does that skull have to do with anything Religious? I know they were all unbelievable, yet they were still believable. But this, I don't like.

they do show a lot of pictures from the warehouse from Raiders, could the Ark and the skull have something in common for the film? who knows, just have to wait and see

The belief in extra-terrestrial life can be a religion to some no different than a cult. Check out the links...

Both Stargate and Indiana Jones are using a real-life mystery as the backbone of their stories (just like how more than one movie has dealt with the Holy Grail).
