Picked up the DVD Queen Elizabeth in 3D, which was advertised as the first international Canadian broadcast in 3D. It apparently aired in 2010 as a celebration of the Queen. The main reason to get it is because Royal Review, the 3D short of Queen Elizabeth II's coronation, was part of the broadcast. It's in anaglyph and doesn't look too bad as far as anaglyph goes. However, the broadcast is something of a disaster for me. For one, they don't show the short straight through. They keep interrupting it. For another, the host of the program keeps saying inane stuff over the short like "When you watch 3D, take all of it in" and "Look for the guy on the pole in a few seconds. He pops out at you." It almost makes its MST3K style.
Frankly, I'd like to see the original short as it was shown without the comments from the peanut gallery. |
