So who else is a fan of these two games?

Out of the few Megami Tensei games I've played, Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2 are my favorites. The battle system is very Final Fantasy X, but that is no bad thing when FFX has one of the best turn-based systems around! Insanely great soundtrack, too.

Hopefully we'll get remastered versions in the near future.

I agree, would love HD remasters for both DDS games...maybe just maybe it will get announced during the SMT 30th anniversary.....yeah I know, I am getting my hopes up.

I have been collecting the megaten games since the PS2 days and these are some of my favorites. Little more simple as you don't worry about fusion but story is strong and it has a great mid game twist... and not as burtal on the difficulty as Mainline games
most importantly they are still well priced second hand (well compared to the Persona series)
Shame they don't get more love as they are the ones I recommend to try after P5 royal to get into the megaten game....

I agree, it is a shame the DDS games don't get more love, also wish we could have gotten more games in the series(with the same basic combat/skill systems).

It would be nice if they ported all the older Megaten games to modern systems.

I am so hoping that one of the announcements for the SMT 30th anniversary would be these 2 games getting HD remasters for PS4, PS5, Switch, etc.

The official Western Atlus Twitter account retweeted this the other day.

I'd like to believe it's a sign.

With them celebrating Shin Megami Tensei's 30th anniversary this year, remasters of the DDS games would make sense, and be a very pleasant surprise indeed.

Also the DDS main character(demon form) fig/statuette was at the SMT 30th event earlier this month.

I would pay good money for a remaster collection of DDS1/2.

This is one of the best games that I have played. I think that it will continue to work out for you with all the versions out there but I recommend this game properly given that there are some good battle systems here and the characters are fun to play.

There are rumors swirling around alleging that, over the next few days (or possibly weeks), several Megami Tensei-related releases will be announced. These releases including the Persona 3 remake and ports of Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne, Shin Megami Tensei IV, Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse and Shin Megami Tensei V for various platforms.

Will be interesting to see what comes true, and gosh wouldn't it be wonderful if Digital Devil Saga ports were part of this flood of announcements...

I hope so, next year is the 20th anniversary of DDS.

I heard all those rumors, I am sure SMT5 will get ports of some kind, the real questions are will it be a system I have(PS4) and will it be an enhanced port or a direct port.

Well, we now know the Persona 3 remake is real, and it's coming to both Xbox Series S/X and Xbox One. Obviously, only Microsoft's consoles are mentioned because it's a trailer intended for Sunday's Xbox Showcase. Last generation Xbox should mean there will also be a PS4 version in addition to a PS5 version.

If the P3 remake is on last gen consoles, Shin Megami Tensei V should absolutely be, once ports are announced. That's honestly what I've expected all along, as Atlus tend to be pretty good about supporting older systems far into their life cycle. For example, they released Persona 4 for the PS2 in 2008, Persona 5 is at its heart a PS3 game and released for that console - alongside the PS4 - in 2016.

Given this history, and with SMTV being a Nintendo Switch game first and foremost, I would say you have nothing to worry about.

We will just have to wait and see....so far the SMT 30th anniversary feels more like Persona 25th 2.0.

I know what you mean, there's been far more focus on Persona so far. There may be something come early July. We'll see.

Considering this is supposed to be the year they celebrate the 30th anniversary, you'd think there have to be some SMT news at some point.

There is a slight chance of an announcement at Anime Expo since there will be SMT 30th events there but Tokyo Game Show makes the most sense.

The sooner the better as far as I'm concerned, but at this point I'm leaning this way too. If we get any announcements sooner, great, but Tokyo Game Show and later is when we can truly expect to get some news.

The Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden announcements came in October last year, IIRC.
