Well I expected this having the Picard movie collection released back in 2019. I'm guessing same type of packaging as the first 4 movies.
Can't wait for all the complaining once oversharpening of the old blu-rays is removed for the UHDs.

I never did get into the Original Series but I love TNG. I'll opt for the standalone and hope they do art like they did with the standalone Original Six.

Day 1 purchase for individual releases and I too hope they use the original 1 sheet poster artwork to match I-VI.

Paramount is really cranking out their 4K content. I wish other studios would take notice and follow their lead.

BTW, Paramount, please keep whoever worked on "Planes Trains and Automobiles" as far away from these releases as possible.

The trouble with cranking it out is that they're not paying attention all the time, particularly when it comes to compression. So while I appreciate Paramount's newfound zeal it's also bittersweet as they love DNR, hate OG audio and use Mr Magoo to encode their discs.

Agreed, but it also keeps physical media going. That's important.

But like I said earlier, I really wish studios had a point of contact where we can talk about these issues with people, and not just have some black box email to send complaints to.

That's precisely why it's so bittersweet. Yay, we're getting more catalogue movies on UHD! Boo, they're encoded using a toaster!

It'd be great to be able to actually relay these things to people in the know, agreed, but the problem with the people in the know is that they're not in the know, they've no idea what we're talking about. It's mostly a handful of college grads pushing buttons when it comes to the major studios, while the indies are perhaps even worse as they've got people who do care and yet don't, look at the walking charm offensive known as Kino Lorber Insider.

It's almost just dumb luck these days as to whether we get something that's the complete package from source to disc.

GENERATIONS is my favourite Star Trek movie. TNG's big-screen debut, Picard AND Kirk, a uniquely sympathetic "villain", and one hell of a soundtrack!

I thoroughly enjoy Generations right behind First Contact. Data struggling with the emotion chip and every second McDowell is on screen is just gold.
