Default 85 years of Superheroes??

Okay, so, like everyone else, I like the fact that Warner has a "theme" excuse to release Batman Begins and the Anthology...

But I can't be the only one wondering: "85 years"??
So, considering that Batman and Superman didn't show up until the mid-30's, who was the Superhero of 1923?

(And no, the Douglas Fairbanks Sr. "Zorro" was 1920, and Fox.)

Isn't it 85 years of Warner Bros.? I would assume the different themes are based on their most popular movie genres, and I would say superheroes has been a big genre for Warner Bros.

Superheroes belong to either Marvel or DC Comics.

I must admit, I'm at a loss. Your post has had me searching for awhile now with no luck. I will try for a few more minutes
