Not unless the game was specifically coded to support it. Resistance: Fall of Man lets you take screenshots by hitting the PRINT SCREEN button on an attached USB keyboard. flOw with the expansion pack lets you take screenshots by eating a certain type of food/creature.

A few PSP games like LocoRoco, WipEout Pulse allow this too through their own menu options.

The resulting screenshot is sent to the XMB 'Photo' column.

If your PC has S-Video Input, use the extra S-Video cable to connect your PS3 to PC. I uses Nero Player to hit the screenshot and sometime record my game play. Most of my game play are available on YouTube.

Unless you have access to some high-end studio equipment, iNCREDiPiNOY's idea is probably best.

When I worked as a journalist, we used a device that sort of daisychained itself into your audio and video cables to capture video or individual images with the click of a button. Very handy. But SUPER expensive. I know Digital Foundry makes an HDMI capture device that is compatible with PS3, tho it's not available to the general public.

I think all games should have the PrintScrn option.

Its at the option of the dev for the simple print screen.

I just wished Resistance added a print screen to the single player
and not just the multiplayer.

Actually, I have fl0w, and don't really know what the buttons do. But one of them (or some other game mechanic) is always making screenshots.
Anyone know what button/object this is exactly?

The game takes screenshots randomly, all the buttons do is give you a speed boost.

I agree with this. That would be a sweet little feature. I would definately use the he** out of it.

I've just been searching around and thought this feature would be useful, it would be great.

Something in a firmware update would be perfect.

It's not a button and it's not random. It's a particular type of food that you eat.

The screenshot food looks different than all the others - it has two antennae at its head, as I recall. If you don't want to take a screenshot, don't eat it.

Sony already made the API for it, it costs like a couple of mb of ram, few devs are actually using it but its out there.

Does this work with a HDMI cable instead?

Alot of HDTV's may have that ability. My SXRD can take snapshots, for example and save them to it's own memory stick reader.

Universal print screen to XMB seems like it would be pretty easy for SCEI to implement, though.

Most of the folks I know that like to HD capture video/pics use this, but be forewarned it is pricey-normally around $200:
