Default The Prisoner: The Complete Series (1967) – Imprint Television #6

ALL 17 DIGITALLY RESTORED EPISODES, PACKED WITH BRAND NEW SPECIAL FEATURES INCLUDING IN-DEPTH DOCUMENTARIES

Quote:
Who is THE PRISONER?

He is a man without a name and whose background is wreathed in mystery… Now a captive in the most intriguing, menacing, yet beautiful prison in the world – a very lovely village… but how to escape?

THE PRISONER is one of the most challenging and unusual series ever filmed for television, devised by series star Patrick McGoohan. The Prisoner resists every physical and mental effort to break him… stories of one man’s tremendous, unflinching battle for survival as an individual in a macabre world in which every move is watched by electronic eyes and in which all of his ‘neighbours’ are suspect. The series’ themes are incredibly as relevant today as they were in 1967.

This 7-disc set brings together all 17 digitally restored episodes, special features including the in-depth documentaries Don’t Knock Yourself Out, and In My Mind which examines the story of Patrick McGoohan’s reluctance to speak about the series, plus a bonus disc with five episodes of Patrick McGoohan’s previous series DANGER MAN – two of them new to Blu-ray.

Madman released the DVD version a few days ago and I was lamenting that I missed out on Networks Blu-ray release.

Happy to pre-order this, and am glad I don't have to get stuck with another horrible DVD set... The special features look to be quite exhaustive, and I'll be interested to see the Danger Man episodes as I've never seen that series.

I'll probably end up having to play the Iron Maiden song before I watch an episode though... I've been conditioned!

Another ITV set originally started by Network before their demise and picked up by Imprint.

Outside of the new stuff I assume this basically contains all the extras from the Network releases?

Well i pulled the trigger. I thought some people would be unloading their old copies on eBay but they are charging more than this objectively superior release which is unhinged. That’s 100 bucks I wasn’t planning on spending this month haha.

I bought Imprint's The Avengers boxset off eBay and it was in a box that I think Imprint used to ship to the seller.

I'm adding my vote for a set of Danger Man on Blu.

I'm kinda bummed about the box art. The rear looks cool. But the front and especially the spine (which I'll be seeing the most since it'll be on my shelf) really leave a lot to be desired. Still, I'm very glad to be owning this series again after I sold off my A&E set years ago (for good money)

I'm in Northern California, and for the years I've been shopping at Diabolik they've always sent their items to me in a form fitting box with an interior bubble envelope wrapped around the item(s). Knock on wood nothing has ever arrived to me damaged whatsoever. So, either they have some kind of insider knowledge on how to ship things correctly or every postman between me and them have loved Diabolik and made sure to treat my packages with all the tlc.

The half dozen orders I have done with Diabolik have been great.i bought the Emma Peel Imprint set and the Hellraiser and Psycho Arrow sets from them and absolutely no issues with them.

Exactly.

Yes, it's expensive, yes, it's possible a US or UK label releases a set of equal content/value, but as Remo so eloquently articulates in regard to the future of Andy Stone in Casino, "...why take a chance?"

Pre-ordered from OrbitDVD.

Default Pre-Order Sold Out (For Now)...

...from OrbitDVD here in the US. With only 1500 to be printed, I'm getting the hard to find feels for this set.

Yep, sold out at Atomic Movie Store (where I ordered mine) and DiabolikDVD, too, so they all either got very few copies allocated to them, or this thing is a powerhouse seller for Via Vision.

Up to you whether to want to risk it!

I'm not. It'll be nice to have (almost) everything in a single deluxe set. Very, very few Network extras haven't made it across.
