I have a Sony BDP-S3700 region free blu-ray player purchased in 2021. I tried to watch my Region A copy of M*A*S*H last night (RIP Donald Sutherland) and immediately got a red screen message about needing to update my player firmware - the message was from the Fox disc not the player.
I've heard that updating the firmware on the BDP-S3700 cancels out whatever region hacks were done, so I want to double check before I do anything and potentially ruin my region free capabilities. Does anyone know if updating the firmware will be ok? Thanks! Last edited by schwaarz; 06-21-2024 at 03:54 PM. |
