Nat Geo Greenlights ‘Jaws @ 50’ Feature Documentary Marking 50th Anniversary of Film & Book, From Steven Spielberg’s Amblin & Nedland Media

National Geographic is paying homage to Jaws, giving a green light to Jaws @ 50 (working title), a feature documentary to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Peter Benchley’s bestselling novel and the blockbuster film directed by Steven Spielberg. Nat Geo partnered with Spielberg’s Amblin Documentaries and Nedland Media on the project.

Nedland Media’s Laurent Bouzereau will direct the documentary, which will include footage and photography from the Benchley and Spielberg archives, as well as all-new interviews from the worlds of film, literature, pop culture and ocean conservation.

Agreed, but I'll watch just about any documentary about Jaws.

One of my favorite Jaws items I own is the coffee table book, "Jaws: Memories from Martha's Vineyard." I HIGHLY recommend this for any Jaws fan.

Really enjoyed this. As suspected, there's not a huge amount of new info to be told & some of the interviews are lifted from older docs (most for obvious reasons), but it's just great to hear these people talk about the movie & their experiences making it, watching it, or just being around the production as they invaded Martha's Vineyard.

I had no idea so much of the cast was made up of the locals - only 8 of them were 'from Hollywood' & everyone else was an islander!

Highly recommended.

At first when I saw the little Disney logo I was like "Don't tell me Disney owns Jaws now!"
