Yep, very exciting. I wouldn't be surprised if Kino plans to release The Horror of Frankenstein and some others on 4K that were previously with SF too.

Hollllly shit, the first Hammer 4K! It took way too long. Bring on as many as possible - I’ll buy all of them.

I mean, of all the Hammer movies to choose, this is pretty bottom of the barrel. I'm surprised they went for that one. I guess they figured it's Dracula and it has Christopher Lee in it?

Yeah, they didn't have access to many Hammer titles, just the stuff that recently went OOP from Shout. According to BarnDoor, this is the only one from their Studiocanal deal, do we'll have to wait till they make a new deal, or see if another label picked up the others.

Yeah, seriously. This and Horror of Frankenstein are the worst of the worst. I hope they get to some actually good movies before giving up due to bad sales.

Both of those, especially Plague of the Zombies, are actually good. Especially compared to this.

I will get any Hammer film that comes out in 4K. Although I never thought this would be the first one.

I think this is unduly harsh. Scars is by no means top shelf Hammer, but I would say it’s comfortably middle shelf. They certainly made much worse.

Also I unapologetically love Horror of Frankenstein.

YES FINALLY! Definitely not the best Hammer film but still a fun time, and some Hammer on 4K is better than no Hammer on 4K! I echo the hope that Kino may be planning to release more Shout/Scream Factory titles on 4K! My favourite studio deserves nothing but the best

I'm excited myself!

However, I imagine Indicator will be releasing a bunch as well.

So expect a lot of double dipping between the US and UK releases.

Of course. I just recently bought every Hammer Dracula on Blu-ray to complete the collection. No Blu-ray is safe now.
