Microsoft Closes Movies & TV Store

I guess it isn't a popular storefront, did anyone shop here? The only content I have from here was via Xbox Gold/Game Pass perks.

Important: Microsoft no longer offers new entertainment content for purchase, including movies and TV shows, on Microsoft.com, Microsoft Store on Windows, and the Microsoft Store on Xbox. However, you can continue to access your purchased content in the Movies & TV app on Xbox or Windows device.

I bought most of my collection there with the help of Bing points. But you could tell something was about to happen over the past month. They replaced the 4.99 weekly sale button with rental only option for select movies that didn't change. There Wasn't much of an effort to add new sales the last couple weeks. And then this week no sales at all... sucks makes me wonder if they would just completely remove access to your purchases.

Sorry to hear that, hopefully there is some clarification as to how long you can access your library. I don't anticipate any of my digital purchases being available perpetually so I put a little effort into creating backups, but even that has some risks.

Too bad Microsoft didn't work out a deal with another Movies Anywhere partner to transfer licenses over.
