Earlier today, it was announced that Xbox will be returning with a special Xbox Tokyo Game Show broadcast for 2025, and someone who's working on the event says it's a showcase we apparently "don't want to miss".

This is coming from Todd Kaumans - an executive producer for "Premier Broadcasts" at Microsoft and Xbox - and his message to fans is short and sweet. Here's a look at what he had to say on social media:

Quote:
Can confirm: You don’t want to miss this one. We’re back with another #XboxTokyoGameShow Broadcast on Sep 25. Be there! https://t.co/IKXd8woAdI— Todd Kaumans (@ToddKaumans) September 9, 2025
Now, listen, we know that Xbox employees like to hype up their events, so let's take this with a pinch of salt. Still, there's reason to believe that this showcase will be well worth tuning in for.

In 2024, six Xbox Game Pass titles were announced including a bunch of shadow drops, while 2023 saw the announcements of Octopath Traveler 2, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name and more, and 2022 featured no less than eight Game Pass announcements such as Deathloop and Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

I don’t see that at TGS. They’ll have a lot of AAA Japanese announcements and a smattering of big budget ones.

TGS is the new major show now that CES is done. I could see the announcement or some trailer dropping.

I just don't see the point when it's still 14 years away.

Quote:
The excitement for Tokyo Game Show next week is starting to build, with Xbox recently laying out its livestream plans for the convention. Indeed, we have Microsoft's own broadcast airing September 25th, and now a new third-party livestream has hinted that the Xbox event may well contain a pretty big surprise.

Gematsu has detailed the full TGS 2025 schedule, and Japanese gaming mag Famitsu has an event being held on September 27th. In that event, Microsoft Japan will be showing off an as-of-now unnamed 'Xbox Title', which we assume will be revealed in some form two days prior at the main Microsoft event.

It stands to reason that we probably won't find out what this game is prior to September 25th, then, but we're starting to think that this could be Forza Horizon 6. We've heard reports that the next Forza Horizon title will be revealed at the Japanese event, and if so, it makes sense that Xbox would want to make a big deal of it and show it off more than once. Possibly a reveal trailer on the 25th and then a deep dive on the 27th? We're not sure on that yet, but here's hoping!
