You mean the site that allows a person to catalogue his or her collection? I haven't noticed any problems or prejudices (if we're talking about the same site). What has been your experience that has led you to this feeling?

I use that site just to keep track of my Blu-rays. I have never been on their forum. If I did go on the forum it would only be to talk about catalog issues or questions. It's not a Blu-ray site; it's a site where folks can keep an inventory of their video discs, whether DVD, Blu-ray or HD-DVD. I'd advise keeping the peace by not discussing "format politics" over there.

Ah. Well, let them stew in their unhappiness. I watched X-Men 3, Becoming Jane, and Independence Day on Blu-ray yesterday and was thrilled each time with the audio and PQ. If they want to deprive themselves of that experience, or lament the passing of HD DVD, or (now) claim that downloading is the wave of the future, let them be silly in their ignorance.

It might be best to avoid posting on such a site.

Yeah i got I Robot on the way after reading the hi def digest review. I just think alot of these dvd collectors with like over a 1000 dvds are going to be made to look like idoits in the next 5 years as bluray starts to take over.

They just don't want to sell any of there dvds it's stupid

Obviously, as you can tell from my sig, I have a ton of DVDs, too. And I don't even include my remaining 100 or so LaserDiscs. However, I don't lament the passing of one or another format (at my age, I've seen too many movie and music formats come and go). I want the best viewing and listening experience. I always have. The advent of Blu-ray doesn't mean anyone has to sell off their previous collections. But why keep buying new movies in SD when you can now buy many of them in Blu-ray?

You will not be dissapointed with I, Robot especially if you can take advantage of DTS MA. It really does deserve a 5 star PQ/AQ review

Well,

Some of the DVDSpot users have tons of DVDs. Like thousands. If I were them,.. I would be trying to evade the goodness of Blu Ray too. Or maybe I wouldn't because I actually have over 500 DVD's and I'll gladly re-buy most of them on Blu Ray.

Still... DVD owns for sheer quantity and diversity. You can get so very many types of movies on DVD it's amazing really.

Like someone else mention-ed,... I use DVDSpot to catalog my Blu Rays only. I can't be bothered with stuff like that for my DVDs anymore.

I didn't even know they had a forum.

I just use them to catalog my small but growing BD collection.

I find the title of the thread funny. DVD spot are DVD fanboys...really...thats almost like saying Blu-Ray.com will be filled with BD fanboys, or that Hd DVD.dead would be filled with HD DVD fanboys and wondering why.

My experience is that a certain subset of the people with large dvd collections are somewhat upset that the dvd age is soon to be over. I think many of them really thought once they bought a dvd of a movie there would be nothing better anytime soon. These people will slowly migrate over once Blu-ray becomes the dominant platform.

I just started organizing my Blu-ray collection there, but I don't bother with the forums. Honestly, when I fist heard about Blu-ray I resisted the idea thinking that it would make my DVD collection a thing of the past (I have over 500 of those suckers in my entertainment room). Well, the first time I saw a blu-ray demostration, I knew that it was Blu-ray for me. It will take a little while, but most collectors will be converting to blu-ray.
