Default Religious comparison with HD-DVD

What I notice is that there are three types of faith.
Faith in only what is already in front of you.
Faith in waiting little for something, because of various subjective evidences and indicators.
Faith in waiting indefinitely, because of various subjective evidences and indicators.

Personally, I think the middle one is the most sane.

I think anyone with a working brain can see why. The first and the last are the extremes, the middle is the most balanced. It would be foolish to believe in blu-ray if you didn’t see it come to fruition in 55 years time IMO, also would be foolish to reject blu-ray, because it doesn’t fully exist yet. i.e. there aren’t thousands of movies out, and cheaper players yet.

The problem with some HD-DVD fan boys is that the concept of waiting 'in faith' for Blu-ray to come to fruition is inconceivable.

Blu-ray supporters don't need to see the future before supporting the format.

Why?

Because in life all we get is indicators. We just have to get educated about current tends, study the stocks and make educated guesses. People that only invest in stocks after they rise, miss out. It’s best to invest before they rise. In fact those who know about Enron know how damaging it can be to invest in stocks that are already rising. I think we may see a similarity with HD-DVD. People investing in HD-DVD because it has a little run in 2006 , jumping in just to watch it crash.

Blu-ray is the educated guess, and you all should know why. Of course it is possible that HD-DVD could somehow win, but that probability is very small according to the sum of all the evidence.

I just had to vent a little.
