Default Question about a blu-ray dvd....

These blu-ray disc dvd's are new to me and my son got one for Christmas from a family member that didn't know much about dvd's, just knew which movie he wanted and that it was a dvd. He opened it and him and his sister put it in her dvd player, not a blu-ray dvd player, and of course it didn't work. They told me about it and showed me the case and I told them that it was a blu-ray dvd and it would probably not work on any dvd players that we had. I was wondering since they put it in a regular dvd player and tried to play it could it have damaged it? Because if not I want to sale it because we can not use it. Thanks for any help.

No, the disc shouldn't be damaged. The actual discs are the same size, and the lasers aren't strong enough to cause damage. You should be fine.
