Calibrate audio/video lag?
Alright... So ive got this friend who has a TV with an 8ms response time. Theres apparently no way to calibrate it besides doing an "audo-calibration" thing is has in it. Do any of you techy guys have any idea how to make the response time any better? He's using a ps2 with componants (yeah. a ps2) to play beatmania... did a search but couldnt find anything similar. All i got was how to calibrate your surround sound... hes using his tv's speakers. Anybody have any ideas? ![]() |

I don't think you can improve response time, 8ms is not good for a tv my computer monitor is half that.

![]() Theres obviously a reason for it, but there must be a way around it. You shure theres no way to fix it. ...at all? ![]() |

Only way to fix it is to replace it, response time is basically how long it takes a pixel to cycle from white to black, so this relates to motion on lcd panels. A faster response time will allow motion to look smoother.

Response time is an issue with LCD TVs. Plasma switches instantaneously, So the response time is almost zero.

8ms is pretty good for an LCD, I'm guessing friend has a Samsung? There is no way to calibrate that response time, it is simply something that is published. You can't calibrate the height or the width of the tv, and the same applies to the pixel response time.

I think LCD panels are made with low response times such as 2.5ms. However, 8ms is not too bad. I don't think there is a need to add delay to audio to compensate this.
