Default Hard drive screws?

where do you buy them? i stripped one completely and another one is beginning to get stripped. i figured i might as well get better quality screws (not soft) for when i put it back together, but i dont know where i can buy them or what type they are. also, i'm not calling sony since it will take way to long to get replacements. im going later this afternoon to pick some up.

also, i know theres a harddrive thread but i wasn't getting an answer there.

you should be able to find virtually any screw you need at a good hardware store.

They are typical laptop HDD screws.

I recently had my ps3 HDD fail on me, and I also stripped the screws trying to get them off the encasement. They are screwed on so damn tight its not funny. I actually have blisters on my finger and palm from trying to remove the screws. I had to drill them in the end to get the out.

i just found one called compusmart.

if anyone knows off-hand...how much room is there for the screw-head? the ones i have found all have a thicker top to them than the flat-top ones that came with it originally.

Use a pair of Needle Nose pliers from your fishing tackle box. I had the same thing happen to me. You can buy new ones from the Playstation store online. (not the PS3 one) If you want, I just re-used the stripped screws.

You just grip the screws and turn, it may take a couple of times to get a good grip but it works.

Then you just tighten the screws with your pliers. Its that easy

just use needle nose pliers, and take them out, then put them back in, since your never going to change it again... that's what i did, because they are super done in...

You know I had the same problem. I tried to take out the screws on mine and stripped 2 of them! Luckily I had more I could use but they make those WAY WAY WAY too tight to get them off. I had to resort to pliers and a RoboGrip to get those screws out.
I get those things at used computer stores and places like Micro Center, CompUSA, etc.
