Also good news is that the latest release, from Incubus, has 24/48 PCM.

Hopefully Sony will be bumping up their word length on their Blu-ray movie releases soon too.

I don't know about the others, but the John Legend disc has been out for a while. I've had it since I first got my Panny back in November. It's a great sounding and looking disc.

As much as I like concert 'DVDs', this is not the 'other side' of Blu-ray I've been waiting for. I'm waiting for audio-only Blu-ray releases of actual albums in 192/24 5.1 surround and stereo, even though I would still prefer SACDs, but a BD in 192/24 surround is still better than a DVD-A in 96/24 surround, IMO.

Sony is sneaky.

Consider most BD owners are people who bought PS3s. In a few years, most of them will be using the HDMI connection: PS3 - receiver - HDTV. And most would like some concert BDs to play with with TrueHD or DTS HDMA or LPCM. Everything is hunky dory.

Then let's say they release the new John Legend CD as a hybrid multichannel-SACD only. Customers put it on their PS3 and KA-POW! Instant SACD user base and a format revival. Ain't that sneaky?

Yes this is what I'm waiting for as well and have been sending Sony/BMG an email once a month asking for the re-release of all Dave Matthews Band studio albums on Blu-ray in 5.1 192/24
Give me now!!

You can guarantee with a fanbase as rabid as the DMB community that this would probably be the second biggest push for Blu-ray behind the PS3. Tens of thousands of fans would want to know about Blu-ray if this happened.

For the same reasons as the wonderful SACD format.
Pristine, clear audio.

AlexKx, is not that they won't or they can't. As I posted to you a couple of posts above, they could go from having several albums on an audio-only release to having it all full with video (but of course less content (songs/albums) because the video takes up space. Some people just want to listen to music sometimes and have their own pictures formed in their heads or the feelings be their own, instead of watching a set image with it; others want the artist or imagery etc go with the music. Recorded music is a strange new 20th century thing, in which you have music in front of you w/o the performers being there and it becomes a more intelectual abstract thing then. (Well you could also close your eyes in a concert but .. you know what I mean :-P) Don't worry we'll have chockful of BD music videos like with DVD, as Blu-ray succeeds. We can't have the whole 10 year DVD catalog )or the 70 year old music catalog etc) launched in 6 months!

Might have to pick up that Incubus Blu-ray. Its too bad they don't have "Shaft" on there - I like their older stuff best, especially S.C.I.E.N.C.E.

Have you all taken the survey? You should. Let them know what we want. They seem to be asking a lot of questions specifically about music-only Blu-ray titles as well, not music video titles. That's what I'm talking about.

Why would there be audio only Blu-Ray discs? Why not include all related films as well as unreleased tracks and new interviews? This is what I have DESPERATELY been waiting for for YEARS now! Get on with it I say!!!

These are video and audio. All 1080p. All 5.1 LPCM (48/24 in the case of Incubus).
