Default Juno (with Spoilers) Thread!

Sorry, the S-E-A-R-C-H function pulls up everyones "collection" and "Trades" etc. and I didn't see a dedicated thread to the discussion review/reaction of this film.

At first glance, I thought the movie was going to be like nails on a chalk-board given the fact that the main characters had their own Teenage lingo, that felt too scripted/unnatural..... fortunately this novelty wore off more or less early on, and the jargon became more natural, and less forced. I think all of the characters were very convincing with their subtle quirks, from the Step-Mom, and Dad, to the boyfriend's mother.... they all came off as very believable characters. The music was fitting with the "feel" of the movie.

I think the ending, and the subtle pedophelic tension with the adoptive father and Juno was great. The ending really was great, because you really didn't see it coming.

I enjoyed the film.... watched it with my wife, and I think I enjoyed it better than her.

Thoughts???????

I thought the movie was alright, I didn't like the main character as much as most people did. I got annoyed with her banter, seemed like she was always a spot on smart@$$. That's the way she was written, ok then. I'm not saying anything against the actor, just the character.

My wife and I both saw the ending coming. For me, this movie was probably a one time view. I like some drama movies, but this one just didn't do it for me. Maybe it was all the hype associated with it, maybe it wasn't...

For the record, I netflixed it, and don't plan on buying it.... I did enjoy it though. I only buy movies with multiple replay value (yet I have 1,200 movies )

I loved it. It is a great movie and I bought it. I thought it was a well thought out and well done movie with a terrific cast.

I hear ya, good movie I think everyone should see once, but I don't think I could view it more than once, maybe twice. It'll be on HBO or some other cable channel one day.

Nice collection, I'm trying to pare my down a bit. For blu's, I have about 35 er so. I try to keep ones that I'd only view more than once, trade or sell the rest.

I have a box of DVD's I'm going to liquidate on ebay one day when I get motivated.

I loved Juno, I guess it was easier for me to understand since I'm 16. Had a good soundtrack too, I just bought it on iTunes.

interesting perspective..... having a young child (under 6 months old) and it being our first, I could really relate to the "being pregnant" parts in some ways. My wife did say she liked the movie, but I think it bummed her out a little. At her office yesterday she saw a 16 year old who found out she was pregnant, and instantly decided she doesn't want to keep it. My wife gets really bummed out about that stuff, because she sees our son, and just can't figure out how someone could do that... but I'll leave my personal beliefs on the subject un-said, to stay within forum rules.......

Bottom line, the movie had a very compelling story, so for me, as a new dad, and my wife, as a physician and new mother, it really hit home in a lot of ways.

Congrats on the new-one. Ours is due any day now.... but yeah I get your point about keeping the baby, aborting, or adoption... I could never give them up, no matter what the circumstance, especially after all that you go through.
