Default Can we count on new TV seasons?

Just wondering what other people reckon when it comes to the insurgence of the latest TV seasons on home video in September-December period.

It's as predicatable as the sun rising that all the new seasons will be released on DVD (as usual every year), but do we think we'll get some Blu-ray releases too?

Personally, gimme Smallville s7, CSI: Miami s6 and Supernatural s3 and I'll be happy...

Probably smarter to try the sub-forum for topics such as this: https://forum.blu-ray.com/forumdisplay.php?f=73

I'm wondering what will happen when it comes time for Fox to release season 3 of 'Prison Break' on DVD, probably in early fall this year, before season 4 starts. Season 1 is already out on BD, and fans (including yours truly) have been clamoring for a BD release of season 2. Would be nice if Fox could oblige us with seasons 2 and 3 on BD when the season 3 DVD comes out.

LOST seasons 1 & 2 need to be released IMMEDIATELY! I haven't seen a single episode, I have season 3 on BD already, and it's getting difficult to resist it's presence! But, I don't want to subject myself to poor quality SD DVD for the first two seasons... DAMN IT!

You need to buy/rent the DVDs for Lost. It's going to be a long time (2 years+), and that's direct from a reliable source

Season 3 of Prison Break should hit Blu no problem, no idea on Season 2, but they're probably not in any hurry.

The main problem right now is authoring capacity. Especially with 2 new studios entering the fray, the studios need to prioritize, and a TV box set takes the same time as 8 or 9 movies

I bought Lost S3 last year. Never opened it because I want to wait for S1 & 2 to come out. I have seen them all already on dvd (owned 1 & 2 on dvd and sold then when I went blu). However I won't watch 3 on blu until I have 1 and 2 in hand.

I think 2+ years for them to come out is absurd to say the least. If that's the case - I WON'T be buying anymore blu lost seasons until they fix it.

That's your perogrative, but it's certainly not absurd based on time/effort expenditure vs ROI. New releases are burying catalog titles on Blu, and that's on the $20 titles, not what would be a hundred dollar release of what people already have

Sure it is. Considering in two years time - there is probably going to be a box set on blu. This is all speculative/theory.

I just don't think it will take 2 years to see seasons 1 and 2. Were looking at early 2010 before it hits??? No way. One year? Sounds better. End of year? Ideal.

Well, when you're talking to people involved in the release, then your speculation has merit.

Whether you choose to accept this is up to you. It doesn't change the fact that under the current state of affairs and the sales figures on catalog titles, it simply doesn't make sense to do them at this point

I'd love the terminator chronicle and some early Smallville.

O.C. might be fun, but I'm pretty much set.

While I will be pre-ordering "Lost" season one, I'm glad they're waiting a while. Let the studios focus on D&D TV sets right now...

That being said, I am happy about "Firefly"... and as it's only one set (with a limited number of episodes) makes a little more sense...
