Default Can DVD/BD's be stored right next to a speaker?

Particularly a MA LCR center channel, which I presume is shielded due to its proximity to the TV.

I'm having to reshuffle my shelves to add an amp and the only shelf left to store my Blu-rays would be the one holding the center channel. In other words, I'd be stacking them right next to the speaker. This wouldn't risk damaging the movies in any way, would it? Ditto conventional DVD's?

Thanks.

DVDs/CDs/Blu-rays are not effected by anything magnetic.

VHS or any other cassette/hard drive storage are.

100% correct.

Discs are pretty much impervious to everything except extreme temperatures... not sure about prolonged, direct, intense UV rays, but that's why they have cases I guess!

How far should a hard drive be from speakers? And would a stand shelf be enough of a barrier between the two?

keep a hard drive a foot away or so, and the shelf will do fine.... honestly you can probably set my laptop on top of my sub (14", so it has a big magnet) and I doubt there would be any issues.... actually... it's probably sitting on top of it right now!!!
