Default Subwoofers.......?

Hello,
I read the sticky on subwoofers, but it is WAY over my head. I am looking for a decent subwoofer, any recommendations? The room size is 18.5 X 18.5, with 6 in-wall speakers.

Based on my reading in this forum the following subs seem to be good:
SVS PB10
HSU Research VTF2MK3
AV123 MFW-15 (but this one is back ordered until July)

The built in cabinet that the subwoofer is suposed to go in is 25Wx24Hx17D, and I dont think that very many decent subs will fit in that space.

Any recommendations? And, yes, I know that I have to go listen to them before I buy one. Thanks for your help.

The AV123 is the best you can get for the money, and one of the best period. The others are very good for the price point. AV123 is online only, I believe you get 30 days to try it out though...(not sure)

AV123 is the one I would get.

are they full sized in-walls, or just all the small 5 1/2" round ones??? If so, I think the subs you're looking at are probably way too big for that setup.

This is exactly the question I am asking....Am I "over-buying," given the fact that I have 5 1/2" in-wall speakers? Do I need a subwoofer that is that powerful or will it go to waste given the speakers I have? Please everyone share their thoughts on this. And if you have any other subwoofer recommendations that would be better for the 5 1/2" in-wall speakers, please let me know. Thanks

Absolutely agreed - the AV123 will cure any upgradeitis you may have as well as playing as deep as you could possibly need.

You may never run it to its full potential in you current room, but it's always nice to know you have a lot of extra room in your sub's playback.
