Question Face/Off 2 Discs Collector's Edition or 1 Disc.

Amazon has the Face/Off cover art saying 2 Discs Special Collector's Edition.

However, the copy I got from Wal-Mart says only Special Collector's Edition and it is in fact a 1-Disc only BD. Target also has the same copies as Wal-Mart.

Then, another interesting thing is that Amazon product details says:

* Region: Region 1 (U.S. and Canada only. Read more about DVD formats.)
* Aspect Ratio: 2.35:1
* Number of discs: 1
* Rating:
* Studio: Paramount
* DVD Release Date: June 3, 2008
* Run Time: 140 minutes

Does anybody has infos on this? To People who got Face/off: is your copy a 2-Discs or 1-Disc? What does the cover art says? This is fishy

Nothing is reported to be missing on the BD besides the DD+ track.

I'd be interested to hear what was MEANT to be on the BD release before Paramount switched sides last year. Apparently some people weren't too pleased that their work had gone to waste as it had to be ditched for the HD DVD version. Anyone any info on this?

My wild guess.

1) A maxed out high bit rate encode with special features on a separate disc.
2) BD25 optimized encode matching the HD DVD version with bonus materials on a separate disc.

This is exactly what had already been pressed when Paramount went red

The compression should be Blu optimized, the DNR was applied before that stage

The Blu was always one disc, the HD DVD and DVD are 2

You are wrong Wicky. Face/Off on BD was originally advertised to be a 2 disc C.E. Few days before their stupid defection Paramount changed the advertised spec and made it single disc but eventually pulled out the release.

No, I'm not wrong. It was a typo which was later changed The discs were pressed a month before release and sitting in a warehouse until this week. The extras all fit on a BD50, and if you compare the package to the HD DVD and DVD you'll see they're identical.

Paramount SOP before going red was optimized compressions for each format

Besides the fact the I'd believe Wicky on just about anything, I would have assumed it was more of a typo thing anyway.

Guy making the covers probably just put 2 disc on all them without even thinking about it. Was later told that the Blu-ray wouldn't actually need 2 discs like the others and the coverart was changed.

It's definitely the same version (actually, same exact discs) that they had planned originally. On the back of mine it says 2007 as the year the BD was produced.

Not to mention the fact that John Travolta's wife would have noticed that Cage's body wasn't her husband's - probably just by looking at him clothed, but definitely by the time they had sex.

Haha, this movie just bypasses logic completely.

I always wondered, if Sean Archer got his hair cut to look like Caster Troy...how did Caster Troy grow his hair so quickly to look like Sean Archer?

Hmmm...

You need to PM me your bank account number and vital information immediately. Your finances are in great danger child. Your pa is not strong today, and the prophets tell me it will be much safer in a numbered account in Grand Cayman, which I swear I will send to you as soon as it's secure
