Default Doomsday white pixels in the black bars

hey all. This is not a huge deal but it was annoying for a couple minutes. I bought and watched the Doomsday BD the other day and I noticed when the film started that at the very top and very bottom of my screen, about 1/3rd of the way from the left there were 4 white pixels in the black bars evenly spaced at about 1 or 2 inches. I checked my TV with another BD and HDTV but they were fine. Anyone else notice this or do I have a dud disc?

I only had one white dot on the top black bar, about 1/3 of the way in from the left. It stayed there the whole movie though..... Doomsday is the only movie I have ever noticed it on though.

Hrm, I have my player (PS3) sending an unscaled image to my TV (which also doesn't scale the image) and I don't recall seeing anything like that when I rented it last week. I do have it on the way (as I really dug the movie) so I'll check it out when it arrives.

It's possible some tv's are giving an extra bit of display (dependant on the bezel perhaps) and that you're seeing the very edge which was unintentional... or there's an error on the disc.

It's the U-control. Turn it on and then off again... and VOILA!! Gone.

Not one problem here. Great disc, great movie (though not as good as Marshall's "The Descent").

I rented it from Netflix and I had the same white spots on the black bar.

yes I too have the little dots on the top and bottom of the screen. the previous post is probably right its u control part of the dvd menus.

the reason we see it is I think we have our tvs set up right on just scan and not 16x9 that way we get no matter what the exact native image being sent from whatever input where as on my samsung lcd 46 inch 16x9 zooms in just a tiny bit so you dont have those bars on the left and right hand side where the film looks like a photo negative or something.
I prefer native image no matter what that way im getting the best picture
