A cd with the ost, a 144 page book, a calender for 2008 and the "notes" for the song "L’hymne à l’amour". Stuck with the normal edition myself.

Pro-B,

Do you know if La mome is out of print in France? I haven't searched around too many sites but Amazon.fr hasn't been able to directly fulfill them for months. Thanks.

I think there's trouble with fulfilling the online retailers with the limited edition french release. But, with their B&M, I think it's still in stock. A friend just got back from France and took a picture of the boxset. I own the simple edition myself, and I'm satisfied.

Actually the LE (Limited Edition) is indeed limited. You should be able to find plenty of copies for the single disc but the LE is more than likely on its way to OOP.

Let me look around and see if it is still available...

edit: It is still available here but as the price shows it is waving goodbye:

I agree, it was an excellent movie, and Marillon did an amazing job. Personally, I couldn't re-watch such a tragic and depressing movie over and over again, so would not own it. But I do wish that more drama-type movies would be released on blu -- we will have to wait some time for blu to go more mainstream.

I really thought her performance and this movie in general were overrated.

Does the audio on LE really include Dolby True HD 5.1? I just got through the regular 2 disc edition and the audio options only included French dts HD HR 5.1 and French DD 5.1.

Something else on this disc that stood out was that they included 2 different sets of subtitles, one for regular HD displays that had subtitles on both the image and the black bar, and another one for projection displays that had subtitles entirely within the 2.35 image (none on the black bars).

The Dolby TrueHD 5.1 track is available only on the HDDVD LE, the Blu-ray LE boasts a DTS-HD HR 5.1 track (both LEs also have Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks). The specs I posted before were for both versions (and I should have separated them; I am unsure why I've posted everything together, maybe someone PM-ed and I responded). Also, the HDDVD version is encoded with VC-1 while the Blu-ray version is encoded with MPEG-4 AVC.

Edit: I just added up the specs:

I assume the regular edition French BD is region-free, correct? Does it (the regular edition) have optional English subtitles as well?

Thanks....

Dang, maybe I need to import the HD DVD version now. Anyone know why this one hasn't had a US release yet?

Yes. I believe the discs are identical. The only things missing from the regular edition is the CD and other doodads. The main Blu-ray and supplemental DVD are identical.

Can someone confirm the specs for the UK BD? I can not find anything on it. I may want to import it as it is cheap at f.e. Play.

Good morning,

The Icon disc is a port of the TF1 release:

Audio:
DTS-HD HR 5.1
Dolby Digital 5.1
BD 25
MPEG-4 AVC

(I should probably add a review for it).
