The Prestige- dvdempire pre order shipped?? - Blu-ray Forum

Hi. I ordered the prestige from dvdempire last week(on pre-release) and paid using google checkout so I could get the $10 off deal. Anyway, on friday the 16th, I got an email from both dvdempire and google checkout saying my order had already shipped, that's 5 days before release. Can they do that?, granted I'm a new customer to them, and I don't know their practice, but I don't think you can "ship" something that early. What gives?

they prob shipped it so that you will receive it on release day

I pre-ordered mine on amazon.com and they shipped it out today, right on schedule.

Depending on the mailing service you use, they send out orders to ensure they arrive by street (media mail not included). If you ordered regular or expedited, that means shipping on friday so it'll arrive monday/tuesday. This is something they've done for years and years now, since they started back in 1997. It's also one reason I continue to frequent them. They do have hiccups (departed and broken arrow got delayed due to their shipment arriving late) but otherwise they're pretty solid.

Yep, that's why I love DVDEmpire. They ship like clockwork. I use the expedited shipping option and my preorders go out on Friday and are at my door on Monday. I should have The Prestige, Babel & Vertical LImit waiting for me when I get home (due to the holiday yesterday).

It depends on the online store.
In Canada from Future Shop, I ordered a movie and it arrived the day before the release date.
