Any good Jewish Blu-Rays out there?

I'm trying to teach my class about Jewish culture and beliefs.

Are there any Jewish movies or themed movies I can show my students?

The Counterfeiters is a particularly interesting take on a side of history I'd never heard of during WW2.

Black Book is a shocking look at the Holocaust! For students, perhaps not so much.

Let me see what else...

I watched a movie called David & Fatima in school once. And it was a serious movie about jewish culture. Might be kinda boring to some students..But back then we watched all kinds of movies like...shindlers list...roots...rosewood...all those...i dont really like them but on the other hand there interesting to see history and how things happend...I do like enemy of the gates...and patriot...Just some films we watched in classes at school...Hope it helps.

p.s. I dont know if its on blu-ray...Wow you let your class watch blu-ray? thats nice

Yeah, I was going to say KNOCKED UP as well, since there are a ton of Jewish references in there. But I wouldn't really show a movie that has characters talking about MUNICH as a Jewish version of SCARFACE. Although I do like the comeback of "You weren't chosen for a reason."

Even though they don't really get into it, you could show them LIFE OF BRIAN, since it takes the piss out of organized religion and fanaticism. Plus, there's a deleted scene involving the Judean People's Front that the Python's cut because it was a bit too risque even for them. That it brought up some themes and issues that they didn't fully explore in the film, thus putting the scene out of context.

It was a joke. A painfully bad, wholly unoriginal joke, but a joke. But being that there is THIS at the top of every forum, it was in bad taste and should be avoided.

The joke about Knocked Up was clever and funny, this joke is stale and lame.

BTW, Jokes on the internet dont come with a wink, or smile, so he needs to be more careful about what he says. Making jokes about this kind of thing is taking the fast track to a flame war or a banning... here no one knows your background, and for the same reason politics is not permitted, jakes like this likely are not.

As that post is at the top of every thread, calling the guy who made the joke ignorant is dead on.

dont be a hater, my jewish friend sitting next to me was the one egging me on, and oviously you have never been to boca raton, the majority of the population here is jewish, as are my friends, and a good lot of them have gone on to work in hollywood.
