Default Bangkok Dangerous

Poor Nicolas Cage. Anyone else seen this preview? It appears he's sporting the same dew as in Next, another awful Cage movie. It also looks to be a remake of a 1999 movie of the same name...

Will it be better than Next? Wiker Man?

The original Wicker Man was amazing.

Nicolas Cage just doesn't do it for me. I have seen very few of his movies that I like. His early work was pretty good. Then Leaving Las Vegas came along. Then he got caught in the Bruckheimer/Bay trap and has been stuck there since.

I say we put Nic's hair from this movie and Tom Hanks hair from Da Vinci Code in a cage match and see which one cames out as worst movie hair of all time.

The original Bangkok Dangerous was done by the Pang brothers and they are the same directing the the new one with Cage.
I loved the original and from the previews they looked to have stuck with the same material.I just hope Cage can pull this off.

I also loved the original. And I respect the studio for letting the Danny and Oxide Pang direct the remake. I do not think it could ever be as good as the original but we will see.

weekend gross $7,783,266

well, it didn't do as bad as the rocker, but still underperformed for a Cage movie...yet it was still number 1 this weekend. RT is 10%

Did anyone see this yet? care to comment?

You can't say you did not liked The Rock? That is one of my favorite movies!

I saw this movie and went into it thinking it was going to be a disappointment and I was actually shocked at how well I liked the movie. It was your normal kind of deal where a ruthless killer ends up loving someone and teaching another person his craft of what he does. I liked the chemistry of how Nick Cage interacted with his crush so to speak being that she was deaf. The music and how the film was shot just seemed like a different kind of feeling then your normal Nick Cage action movie. Although, something that just seemed odd to me was the fact that every bad guy only used hand guns, I never spotted one with an kind of assault rifle. The ending was neat and I wasn't expecting it do to the fact that I have not seen the original. I generally don't like all Nick Cage movies, but I would say this might be one I will be adding to my Blu Ray collection.

I saw it as well, and I have really mixed feelings about it. I agree that Nick and his crushes interactions were quite enjoyable to watch. Interesting dynamic.

The very very end scene is completely uneeded and the character seems to break the 4th wall for no reason. If I could cut that 5 second scene I would have actually enjoyed this movie a lot more. The very few CGI shots in this film I could have done without as well. I really didn't think they fit the feel and look of the rest of the movie. I also had zero connection to his apprentice, and felt that story line was seriously lacking.

There was a decent amount I liked, but I'd recommend just renting this when it comes to blu. I'd sit this one at 2.5/5 stars though witha few minor changes and this could have easily been a 3.5+/5 star movie for me.

Ok I saw this movie too and in my opinion Cage has made much more interesting movies like Lord of War. Bangkok Dangerous is entertaining but does not get deep enough that one would grow attached to the characters. Kind of like when you hear about a story in the news, you can say it's amazing or tragic but it does not matter that much to you.
