Default Death Proof (2007) / Planet Terror (2007)

Genius will finally release Planet Terror and Death Proof on Blu-ray Disc on 12/16 Extras, however, appear to be identical to the prevoius DVD editions

Planet Terror Blu-ray

Death Proof Blu-ray

Looks like they are separate releases, instead of the full version with all the trailers.

I have the full theatrical version on DVR now. I believe CineMax or Starz have been showing it recently. Guess I'll hold onto it for quite some time.

Why would anyone want to buy these movies separately? The only reason to see either of these in the movie theaters was because they were shown TOGETHER as a unique experience. I had a blast. I actually went in thinking I would hate Death Proof and that the zombie one would be better, but I actually liked Death Proof more. Are either worth a $30 purchase, not really. Would it be worth a purchase together, yeah, probably. A BD50 containing both movies, the messed up versions from the theater and the cleaned up versions, with all the trailers in between, etc. would have been a really nice idea. Or are we going to see double dipping on this? The nice version comes out the same day that Kill Bill 1 & 2 come out on a BD50 together? HHHHhhhmmm...

Neither of these movies were spectacular (in my opinion), I don't know what all the excitement about them is

I really hope this is true. I think both of those movies were fantastic, however, I would like them even better together, with the faux trailers.

Do you have a link?

I'm gonna wait on this. I bet this is going to get re released with the way it was originally shown in theaters.

Just watched the original Grindhouse in HD last night on Starz. It's so great to see Planet Terror in 2.35:1. I don't care what anyone says; the movie looks best composed for that ratio. I also loved the fake trailers. By far the sickest one is Eli Roth's "Thanksgiving". I almost think that they don't want this released on DVD because someone might frame advance the very last few frames of the trailer...

I wish I could get excited about this release, as it's something that I would be endorsing in theory -- but then I went and actually watched those films.

So after all this time, they're just going to do separate releases just like the DVDs.
Nevermind the fact these were released on DVD in Japan as a 6 disc set, including the entire theatrical experience (both movies with trailers).
