When are car manufacturers going to stop putting DVD players in cars, and put in Blu-ray players? With a Full HD screens.... THX, DTS certified etc... Even if it's mainly for the compatibility thing, it would still be good.

Hell, I have two laptops here that display 1080p fine. Although, a 17"+ screen in a car's headliner would be kinda nuts. Audio? You're kidding, right? Maybe it's just a Cali thing, but we have some cars driving around that will eat your audio equipment. Last edited by dadkins; 09-26-2008 at 11:21 PM. |

it still isn't practical for a car manufacturer to do it though, they don't put plasmas in their vehicles nor crazy sound systems.
btw, you don't know what kind of car I drive nor what kind of audio system I have put in it, don't assume things about others ![]() Last edited by DC_Street; 09-26-2008 at 11:28 PM. |

Here you go:
From about a year ago "Panasonic preps in-car Blu-ray player" http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2007/10...c_car_blu-ray/ Sorry, no dates though. Maybe you'll hear more at this years Tokyo Motor Show. Last edited by blu2; 09-26-2008 at 11:28 PM. |

Same applies for you friend.
Some cars come out of the factory with fairly impressive sound systems. Ya have to order them, but they are available... I have a neighbor with a X-D that will melt your car. LOL! I doubt BD players will be a dealer option anytime soon either... but you can have them installed. |

I think it wont be long before there is an after market BD player for your car. I remember DVD was like that at first. There were the after market DVD players for your cars, then the dealerships got into putting them in as a request/option.
As far as sound quality goes if your putting a BD player into your car/van (after market or factory) you will upgrade or already have upgraded your sound system. Most factory based cars/vans that come with a DVD player usually have an upgraded sound system to go with the package/option. |

Personally, I would like to have a player in our car that would accept both BD and standard DVDs. I've not purchased a standard DVD since I got my PS3 in January. Unfortunately, that means I can't watch (with my ears) any new movies when we go on family trips.
