Arrow My Collection feature for Blu-ray.com (Suggest Database Additions Thread)

If there is a Blu-ray movie you would like added to the database, please use this thread to request its inclusion. The more information you can provide, the easier it will be for those of us added the titles. In general, we need the following information:

Title: (English Title Preferred)
Amazon Link: (YesAsia for Asian Discs)
Studio: (The Distributor)
Region: (A, B, or C)
Country: (Where the Disc is Being Sold)
Year:
Runtime: (In Minutes)
Rating: (PG, PG-13, R, ... When Available)
Media: (BD-25, BD-50, BD/DVD, etc)
Discs: (Number of Discs)
Video Codec: (MPEG-2, MPEG-4, or VC-1)
Video Resolution: (1080p, 1080i, 720p, etc)
Aspect Ratio: (2.40:1, 1.85:1, etc)
Digital Copy: Yes/No
BonusView: Yes/No
BD-Live: Yes/No
3D: Yes/No
D-Box: Yes/No
Audio: (formatted as Language, Codec, Channels - English: Dolby TrueHD 5.1)
Subtitles: (Separated by Commas)
Release Date: (Year Month Day)

You don't have to have answers to all of those, but the more you can provide, the quicker we can get the title included. Also, if you have any links to the coverart, or any scans you have done of the coverart, that would be very helpful as well.

Unfortunately, we don't currently support discs from all countries. If you're requested title isn't from one of the following countries, we can't add it:

Australia
Belgium
Canada
China
Czech Republic
Denmark
Finland
France
Germany
Holland
Hong Kong
India
Italy
Japan
Mexico
Norway
Poland
Portugal
Russia
South Korea
Spain
Sweden
Taiwan
Turkey
Ukraine
United Kingdom
United States

Once we update/add the title, we will go back to your post and edit in either a note saying what was completed or a link to the newly added/revised title.

Thanks for all your help!

Default My Collection feature for Blu-ray.com (place Requests to add here)

Ok. I thought of having this type of functionality in my own website but it would be more advantageous for Blu-ray.com to implement this type of functionality. I think it would be a good idea to allow registered users to create a Blu-ray collection catalog via some sort of "My Collection" feature/plugin to blu-ray.com. There are other sites/applications out there that have similar features. There may be users like me who really only care about managing their Blu-ray collection and being able to buy/sell Blu-rays with other users from this site. Most of us spend a considerable amount of time on here each day and the site is growing in popularity as the format grows stronger. Considering the site already consists of a pretty remarkable Blu-ray movie database for various countries, I consider it a no brainer. Here are some initial requirements that come to mind:

Purpose: To provide one location for Blu-ray fans to manage their existing Blu-ray collection, future desired releases and want/sell lists.

Initial Requirements:
1) Only registered users can access the My Collection feature through their profile on Blu-ray.com (either via menu bar or User CP).
2) A user's collection will consist of movies contained in the blu-ray.com movie release database.
3) A user can add and remove titles in their collection
4) A user can add and remove items from their "Own", "Wish" and "Sell" lists.
5) A user can sell a title that currently exists in their collection by marking it as "sellable". Other users can search the site for a particular title which will return results of those users who would like to sell their copy with pricing information. This could be done and integrated with the existing search feature or could be added as a new plugin/module to the site.
6) After searching, the user could select a title from the search results and mark it as being "Wanted", which would add it to their My Collection Wanted list until a deal is struck and closed with the seller. The Amazon price for that disc could also be return so the user can see the price difference between Amazon and those users that would like to sell their used copy.
7) If a used title that a user wants does not exist, they could add it to their profile as being "Wanted" and can enable notification once a user marks that item as being "Sellable" in their profile.
8) When marking a title from their collection as "sellable", a user can select the quality of the used item, provide a selling price for the item, how many are available and provide a brief description of the product.
9) Users can be notified via email or RSS once a title on their "Want List" has been posted to Blu-ray.com by a user that would like to sell their used copy.
10) Provide RSS and email notification for new titles added to the Blu-ray database and added to a user's "Sell List" that interest you.
11) My Collection can be exported into an Excel or PDF file.
12) A user can select a “Recently listed” link within their “My Collection” to see titles recently added for sale.
13) Keep existing Trading Score feature and integrate it with a user’s “My Collection”.
14) Once a transaction is being worked between a buyer and a seller, the title is not visible to other users who are searching for that particular title. If the deal falls through, the title will be relisted in the system. The other alternative is to provide a Status label for each item and if a transaction is being worked between two individuals, it could say "Pending Transaction".

Additional Ideas/Comments:
The main features of this plugin could be located within a user's profile where they could manage "My Collection". The ability to add a movie to your collection could be located in the users profile or in the main movie view for each title. This view is obtained by searching for a movie or browsing for movies by going to the menu bar then selecting Movies. (An “Add to Want List” button can be added next to the Buy Now link within the movie description). While I like the Hot Deals forum, there are many titles posted daily, each in their own thread by a user and I think it would be better for the site to have a My Collection feature where each users could manage their content within their own profile instead of in a forum thread. Another reason is because multitple users could be selling the same title at the same or different prices and it would be nice to easily search and manage that content in your "collection" without it being in individual forum threads.

Note: I am willing to help out in any way possible if Blu-ray.com would like to implement a feature like this.

I would gladly take advantage of this feature. DVDSpot is shutting down this month, so my online catalog would need to move somewhere else. I haven't found an online collection database site that really fits my liking..so if Blu-ray.com stepped up to the plate THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!

I'll stick with OpenDB on my site's server (check my signature), but I'm glad to see this site is looking at adding that option, if only for all the poor bastards who relied on DVDspot only to have them pull the rug out.

That might be a bit unfair to DVDspot...at least they're giving notice and backup tools.

I'm glad to see the devs working on this feature. To think that my mind conjures up similar thoughts to those that have developed blu-ray.com...I'm amazed at myself.

If anyone's running their own sites/servers and wants their own media database, OpenDb is an excellent piece of open source web-ware. Been using it on and off for several years, and it's very solid...pulls information from IMDb, Amazon, and a bunch of other sites depending on the plugins you install (many of which are included in the source package). The newest version (1.50 RC4) features Blu-ray support, though it's very easy to add it as an Item Type in earlier versions (as I did a while back).

BDs, DVDs, CDs, Books, whatever else you collect...you can add them all to OpenDb.

OpenDb seems like an excellent tool for collecting your media. I like the fact that it integrates/pulls information from IMDB and other sources. The only thing that annoys me with IMDB is that they don't offer web services so for developers I'm sure it makes it more difficult. I like the clean white and blue interface. Since I'm learning Java I think I'm going to try and make my own free desktop application, but this looks excellent. Thanks for the info.

I think this would be a pretty awesome feature for this site. But would it also include regular DVD's? I kind of have over a thousand of those and I still buy TV shows on DVD (that aren't on Blu-Ray) so it'd be nice to be able to add those as well. It would make sense not to include DVD's, since this is a Blu-Ray site, but it'd be nice to keep track of the entire collection. Just my thoughts...

i doubt it. that'd be too much work. they'll more than likely use the database of movies that they already have in thier system. if they included dvd's, they would have to add dvd's to the system too, which would make no sense being a blu-ray website.
even on dvdspot.com i only tracked my bluray movies.

So basically exactly what I said.

And I used DVDSpot to keep track of my DVD's, Blu-Rays and HD DVD's since they were all listed on there.

i agree. DVD's would be entirely too much work, especially all those non-mainstream movies that no one has heard of. And people would wonder why the database doesn't have the Little Rascals dvd they bought at the checkout at Wal-Mart. It's too broad of a format. Blu-ray would be much easier since it's new and adding new titles wouldn't be too much labor.
