Default BDP-S350 connection to VSX-91TXH

Any assistance for my issue:

I just got the BDP-S350 and have it connected to my Pioneer Elite VSX-91TXH via HDMI. My questions is around audio settings.

In the BDP-S350 Audio setup, I thought I would set the audio setup for "Dolby Digital to Dolby Digital" and "DTS to DTS" as the receiver handles/decodes this. Am I correct, or completely off base?

Curious, as I was playing a Blu-ray disc and the display on my receiver had PCM?

A complete newbie at this stuff:

that's correct. Do not select Downmix PCM. with the AVR you have you should select Dolby Digital and DTS on the audio set up in the 350. Also I go into the audio set up in each Bluray i play and make sure it's set to DTS or Dolby which ever is present.

P.S. You'll want to set to Direct in audio settings as well so your receiver can do the decoding. Then the it should light up on the receiver "DTS Master Audio or TrueHD"

Thanks!

I set the audio setting from 'Mix' to 'Direct' and the audio was much better.

Thanks again!!
