Default Hdmi vs DVI

Wanted to know which is better a regular hdmi cable or an hdmi cable on one end and a dvi on the other. Which would be better for the ps3?

It depends on what's on the other end: if you have a receiver or HDTV capable of accepting HDMI, use that. It'll pass on the audio and video. If not, and DVI is all you have, use that. Be aware that you'll need an optical cable or other means to get audio from the PS3 in that situation.

hdmi is the better connection of the two, since it passes both audio and video. DVI which is just as good a connection however it will only pass the video. SO it looks like what you tv will take will deciede which cable to use.hdmi is the better of the two

People have already EXPLAINED to you what it all means. Are you reading their posts?

HDMI = DVI + Sound.

You can go with pure HDMI or you can go with HDMI-DVI + the audio connector from the supplied MultiOut cable for your PS3.
