I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the technology is not available publicly for BD+ protection. You know, hackers and all wanting to dismantle it so they can figure out how to crack it for illegal copies and all.

But I'm not really knowledgable in those areas, this is just my initial thoughts on the subject. There are many here that will be able to get you your answer. Good luck, and welcome to the forum!

To the best of my knowledge, in order for you to add those features you need professional authoring tools which are totally out of price and meant for industrial use.

Pardon my question but why would you as an individual want such high protections of your personally burnt Blurays ?

Default Thanks for answers

It seems that I should employ myself in some studio like warner bros or paramount or universal. Oh no.

Currently, AACS and BD+ can be applied to only replicated discs.

Also, there are certain softwares out there that will do 1:1 copies of *ANY* disc. Protection and all!

Well, thank you to both of you for providing the links. After reading, it's a bit reassuring to know that there is the possibility of BD+ being tweaked to defeat the hack. while I do like to be able to back up my own private copies, I also realize that that ability allows others to make illegal copies for re-sale. In the end, that only hurts capitalism, which like it or not, is why we have the advances in technology that we do today. I don't think that we would be where we are today had it not been for the initial belief that BD+ offered better protection, and possibly still could. Just my two-cents...

If I copy protected disc, it is no more playable. 10 € lost. It must be protection removed, than copied. But I NEED to keep protection and have a playable disc.

As I said, there is no way to burn AACS and BD+ protected discs. They are currently reserved for replication.

Here’s an overview of what’s involved: http://www.emedialive.com/Articles/R...rticleID=14071

Of course if can be played, it can be copied. People are dumb enough to buy video camera bootlegs of movies playing in theaters... they might be dumb enough to buy a videocamera recording of someone watching Hellboy II on their Plasma! lol.

I guess I don't understand why you seem so proud to know that they can be pirated. Who cares!? The problem is providing info on how it can be done just aids in piracy and hurts the legitimate paying customers.

So, if one were to copy a disc, it is automatically pirating? Thanks! I did not know this.

OP wants to use BD+ on his movie, I am merely informing him, and others, that copy protection is a waste of time.

I have been copying discs of all types for 20+ years.
Also, Fair Use states that we can make backups of our media... BUT, breaking the encryption is illegal so in a sense we cannot make backups.

Along come these programs that copy 1:1. Clone if you will.
No encryption is being broken, it's getting copied!
No circumventing of copy protection, it is getting copied right along with the rest of the disc(s).

Latest news is that BD+ is broken.
Not that this matters if it can be copied along with the rest of the disc anyways, right?

Amazing what you can do these days, aint it?

DISCLAIMER: I am in NO WAY condoning copying and redistribution of any protected media.
For personal use, I believe it is well within my rights to protect(ironic, aint it) my investment.

My understanding is that it is against the rules of this forum to discuss the duplication of copyrighted BDs, regardless of what your rights are as the owner of a BD are.

Never said it was, did I?
I never provided instructions or linked to instructions to do so either.

My rights are not in question, or as far as I thought, weren't being discussed.
I made a statement and was providing information on a subject brought up by someone else.

Directing the OP to Google however indiectly you wish to regard it, discussion of a website that "can be used to duplicate, acquire or otherwise access copyrighted and copy protected material". Your comment "At the risk of getting suspended again or even banned, Google" and the winking emote says you know as much too.

Please re-read the thread, even though it has lost some continuity, and you will see I was replying to someone else.
I was directing SpikesBluBlooded to the data, not the OP.
He was unaware of how far gone BD+ was, and someone else linked(now gone) to a news item about BD+ being completely broken.

I find it rather odd that Josh can post about how AACS is a wet paper bag and BD+ is failiing, but I get chastised for stating basically the same.

EDIT: The winkie was for the 1:1 programs that exist, but I haven't said what they are.
If you want to know, Google is your friend!

I will back Dadkins up here: I stated that I had not heard that BD+ had been broken, he provided the link to the news report. That's not condoning Blu-beards (couldn't help promote that term, I just love it!), it's simply informing another member on the current status of copy protection software. The article, by the way, goes on to state that they're not using BD+ to its fullest potential yet, and that doing so may negate the current "crack" in the near future. This is promising news to those of us that want to see prices remain "real" and not being artificially inflated to offset losses due to pirating.
