The last thread I saw about WHEN someone will launch a portable BD player was from a few weeks ago. Any news yet. I heard late 2008...well, it's getting late!

You're about the 100th person to ask this question. You said late 2008? They've would've announced it by now so I don't think its going to happen this year. Don't believe the rumors.

I need to buy a portable player for my wife (so I can get my $3K MacBook Pro back!) so she can play her stupid games. So I figured, if I'm going to invest in one maybe I should wait for a BD version so we can also use it to watch movies on long plane rides, etc.
