Default Netflix streaming on xbox

Wow, it wont even let me put any movies that i can stream on my xbox. Every one i put in my queue dosn't even show up but ONE dvd that i rented 3 months ago is showing up and it wont even play that!!!!

It keeps saying my video quality is 4 bars (highest you can have) but than wont let me play the movie.

Seems like they've got some MAJOR problems on release night. This pisses me off pretty bad.

Since I don't watch Netflix on my comp would you say the streaming merits a membership?

Theres not much along the lines of streaming movies, but I love it for the TV shows in HD, like Heroes, 30 Rock etc. I will be using Netflix on my 360 more than I anticipated.

Another note: You can link more than 1 360 to a single Netflix account. Also you can watch something from Netflix on two 360's at the same time.

I was watching an episode of 30 Rock on my setup and my mom was watching an episode of Heroes on her setup.

So far I love the NXE

It sure would be nice if the title of thread was changed since Netflix streaming on xbox ISN'T CRAP. I think millions upon millions of xbox users would strongly disagree with you but what do I know.

I signed up for Netflix yesterday because 1) Xbox steaming and 2) they finally added mac support for computer streaming. I'm EXTREMELY happy with both services, I did the 13.99 program so I can get some blus, too.
As soon as I add a title into my instant queue it shows up on my xbox in less than 10 seconds.

Only problem I'm having (probably being pampered with Blockbuster Online) is that my REAL queue isn't telling me any movies has shipped. I'm on the trial so they may just be holding back a bit, but does Netflix tell you this at all?

Thanks for any help I can get! Oh, and to the OP- sorry you're having problems with it. That's a drag, but I think you're in the minority and if all goes well it will get better!!!!! Hang in there!!!

I think it depends on how many movies you watch a month. I got a netflix trial just to stream from my 360, and I'm going to keep the service. There are enough kids movies on there for it to be worth my while.

Quality wise, it looks better than DVD--even the standard def stuff. The HD selection looks better than that, but its definitely not blu ray and I would only stream a movie that I didn't want to own and I didn't care about the HD quality (like...Baby Mama). A movie like The Thing will look better than DVD, but pales to the Blu Ray.

I've only tested a few things, but I was impressed with how well it played.

I was also VERY pleasantly surprised with how many I could put in the que and play on the 360. I was under the impression from the preview videos that you could only have a single movie in the instant que, but that's not the case. I've got about a half dozen kids movies there already, and have switched between them without issue.

How long does it take to buffer and start playing? Is it quick like On Demand?

I think it depends on your connection, it was only something under 10 seconds for me at around 8pm eastern. Much faster to buffer then I was expecting.

How many movies can you have in to scroll through for screening? As in how many can you queue for the streaming at one time?

I think I'm going to sign up for the trial when I get home from work. Sorry for all the questions, I'm a netflix newb.

OK, signed up for the free trial. So I just need to fill in my Instant queue and then they will show up in my 360? Sorry for questions, at work :P

And 59 seconds is under a minute too, but as you can see there is a big difference from under 10 seconds to under a minute; it could be as much as 50 seconds

I've got 6 in my instant que, with Spiderman 3 being one of them. That's the only one that doesn't show up on the 360, and if you go into the que online it says you can't play it on the 360. You can play it on your PC or laptop though, if you wanted. But the other 5 show up in the que on the 360, and you can cycle between them in whatever way you want.

Can't have the kids watching a movie on the 360 while you watch one on the PC though, I guess you can only stream one at a time no matter where it is.

I'm tempted to get a trial, but my 360 is in another room that is used for pc gaming and 360 gaming exclusively. My PS3 is in the main movie room. Glad to hear it's working for you. I was kinda expecting some growing pains as with any new rollout..

I honestly figured that I was going to have huge problems with it last night with it being the first day for it and trying more or less at 'prime time', but it took me all of 5 minutes to get registered and pick out movies. My daughter saw Caillou on the laptop and asked to watch it, and within 5 seconds from selecting it on the site it was available as an option on my xbox, and 5 seconds later it was on the TV.

Time will tell if the service will remain speedy, and I expect this weekend to be busier, but I have to say I was impressed.

Well it's basically just a portal to Netflix's servers right? I don't think it would be a problem.
