LCD Prices Gonna Fall Early 2009?????

Just wanting to get some educated predictions on what the prices on LCD TV's are gonna do in the next 6 months?

Every time a new model comes out its $100-200 cheaper than the last model. That's what I've noticed.

I'd say older models will drop, LED backlighting is gonna be the new "must-have" for lcd's

I'm concerned now with gaming lag.

First there was screen burn, then motion blur, now it's gaming lag.

The more I learn, the more I end up waiting. I hope that OLED takes care of all of this. The gaming lag in particular is drawing my interest.

Buy a panasonic plasma

Thats the thing about a tech. like LCD, everyone would have been happy with it but they had to keep bringing new things around to show up the competition and now every year theres a new must-have feature... i hope OLED isn't like this because for once i'd like to sell a TV based on PQ and not on features and marketing

I didn't intend to get off topic about this, but getting back on topic, I was surprised by the price margin between the Samsung 8 and 9 series. It was astounding!

I did hear about the gaming lag with the 9 series mentioned in particular, so I did some research on output lag with HDTVs, and I want my first HDTV, (likely an OLED if the price comes down enough for the 55" range, plus 2 composite, 2 component, 3-4 HDMI, 2 PC, etc.) to have zero lag and the picture is right up there with the Kuro, and the electricity savings would make me very happy. The power usage is one thing I like about the LCD compared with a CRT TV.

OLED won't or shouldn't have many additions to it because the tech is pretty much great from the off but panel lifetime, colour reproduction & all other things to do with SD processing will all be tweaked

No company will give consumers a 'perfect' TV from the off because then they've killed off ways for a much larger opportunity to sell more in future but i believe OLED is our truly last physical TV because once they hit the highest point, there can be no more improvement & 3D will be the next addition

Gaming lag is how long it takes the TV to prepare the frame before i's displayed & on games such as FPS games or very high reflex games

The lower the lag, the better your performance will be, or at least only your own skill as a TV not keeping up will no longer be a factor if it has 0% gaming lag

Sony W4000 range had 0% gaming lag & my mum's friends bought this & her sons frequently play Xbox 360 but i think outside a side by side test or at least testing both together yourself, you will only be able to tell, usually if your an adept gamer, playing a game like COD4 & consistently with 3-4 bar connection, you should see an increase in performance

That is assuming your current TV & the 0% gaming lag TV have a gaming lag difference of say 30-50ms between them

General rule of thumb, if your TV has a game mode, use that as it will most likely give least gaming lag & give way to test the above

Play guitar hero on a Sony XBR 2 and you will know for sure what gaming lag is lol. I tried 100+ different calibrations on that game with zero positive results.

My40" v3000 has ZERO game lag, COD4 proves that.

Is this common on Bad Company? Cuz I always die when I have the jump on someone, but they seem to get their shot off at me just a hair quicker than I, although I've already pushed the button on the controller. This drives me crazy sometimes because it seems that I reacted quicker, but their shot goes off first. I know it's not my internet because I have a 650 kb/s connection

I never thought it could be my tv, maybe I should start using Game Mode
