Default Subwoofer driver size

Which is best driver size in subwoofer ?

10 size is clear sound

12 size is deep sound

oversize driver is deepest sound and any 10 Hz to 200 Hz rumble in your house~!

You need to have a dual sub option there. Do passive subs count too?

I very interesting about Subwoofer. there is a wide range in driver size and power. The basic driver types are Woofers, Tweeters, Midrange,

for example, if you have 8" is driver size woofer can't handle frequency response: 10 Hz - 20 Hz is more bass deepest sound.

Oversize driver woofer 15" -20" can handle frequency response: 10Hz-20Hz
is bass rumble~!

Most standard a subwoofer 20Hz-150Hz is frequency response
- a woofer is 50Hz-900 Hz
- a Mid-Range is 200Hz-6kHz
- a tweeter is 3kHz-20kHz

try to test your PC with PC speaker subwoofer bass.

Mine uses a "1500 Watt Class D amplifier driving a 10 inch woofer pressure coupled to two 10 inch Ultra Low Bass radiators," and it performs very well. I'd say if you're wanting the deepest bass possible, bigger is better.

PS: Jinx to Beta as we posted at the same time about the same sub (well, not exactly the same mine is the step down )

Yes you do need a dual sub option here - I have dual 15's up front and dual 8's in the rear.

Actually, I think the size of the driver isn't the key to clear sound - it's the power you can send to it, and the enclosure it's in. I've noticed that most subs in lower price ranges are ported, sometimes with very large ports, to increase the sound volume. That, coupled with refrigerator sized enclosures, put a huge slop factor on the driver - the larger the driver, the more latency in recovery, and thus, less clean sound.

I have a 13" JL Audio Fathom in the living room HT, with two Definitive Super Towers with their own subs working with it. The DefTechs are set up as full range, they don't really do justice to full-on sub work. The sound is absolutely awesome, and is very "fast" and clear.

In the family room HT, I'm using two 12" Klipsch subs, OK units, but they can't be driven too hard. Boomy sound. Paired up, they give a solid deep rumble, but aren't punchy. Great for music if you're not looking for rock concert volume levels.

Sometime over the holidays, I'm going to cobble up a cabinet to house four subs - 2 12" and 2 10" Polk Momo's I have sitting around. Very precise subs, in a sealed cabinet. After using the JL Audio, I'm convinced sealed cabinets work best - much faster response - with the tradeoff being, sealed cabinets are absolute power hogs.

To drive this rig, I have a QSC 2450 power amp that in bridged mono mode will push out 2400 watts at 4 ohms. Things should get interesting.

I think I'd buy another 12" eD before I'd go higher than a 12" driver. Having big-sized drivers (i.e. 18") can be slower and they're less optimal in small to medium-sized rooms. Of course, if you plan on owning a bass heavy theater-sized room, go all out. For 90% of the people out there, that's not the case.

I have a Velodyne DD-12 subwoofer. I does a great job in my small HT room.

Next year I may replace it with a JL Audio F113. http://home.jlaudio.com/products_subs.php?prod_id=371

I am going for a demo after CES.

You need to look into eD subs. Those subs you're looking at are overpriced in my opinion.

I have the JL Audio 13", and it is overpriced. Until you crank it up.

Cleanest sub I've heard yet. If I could get another one, I would. Not knocking any other models out there, mind you; but the JL is the best on the market right now.

It's the package, my friend. It shakes the house, doesn't rattle, and is about 16" square.

It ain't the size of a mini-fridge.
