Arrow I hope 4 Terminator Movies arent too much for you...Because there will be a 5th

Quote:
Halcyon Co. executives Derek Anderson and Victor Kubicek are developing a fifth installment of the "Terminator" franchise with Terminator Salvation director McG, reports Variety.

The trade says the news came out of the Dubai International Film Festival. McG was in Dubai for the announcement.

No decision has been made as to where to film the next "Terminator," although the Middle East was mentioned as a locale.

Christian Bale has signed on in the role of John Connor for all three films in the newly planned trilogy. The next installment, after Terminator Salvation, is tentatively scheduled for a 2011 release.

Anderson and Kubicek had originally planned to wait until the release of Terminator Salvation next summer before deciding on whether to proceed with the next chapter, but the positive studio, fan and media reaction to footage from the current film has encouraged them to move forward ahead of schedule.

"We feel the time is now to start shaping the next part of this," Kubicek said.

My one concern is Connor. I hate the character. I didn't realize it until after watching Sarah Connor Chronicles. I thought it was only the show but people said it's not.

Yet this being the older John Connor might change that...

If they are well done, just bring them in, there is never too much entertainment for my taste and since I have a Cinema Pass I don't mind even a 6th installment

It sounds like it's the "teenage angst" version of the character you dislike. Yeah, he gets annoying, but then teenagers tend to do that. An adult John Connor is a completely different character type.

I know opinions tend to be divided on the movie itself, but personally I liked Nick Stahl's portrayal of John Connor in Terminator 3. He wasn't yet the future leader that Christian Bale is set to play, but he was definitely past the woe-is-me stage of the TV show version. And remember, the TV show and the film franchise are set in alternate timelines. They share the events of T1 & T2, but the timeline diverges at that point.

Would be nice if they did have him show up. Afterall he's the reason for the big success of Terminator. Did you all know that OJ Simpsons was considered by James Cameron to play the Terminator at one point? Can anyone imagine that? We might not be talking about Terminator 2 the TV series and movie 4 and 5 if he had been pick

Don't worry, it's just the show. I like the movies (including 3) but I hate the show. Bale should be a great John Connor.

I think Arnold carried the first two movies, the women carry the Chronicles, and Bale will probably carry the new movies. That's probably why Terminator 3 was so awful. Personally children never add to a movie for me. There's plenty of stories that can't be told without children, but I'm never interested in watching the kiddies. At best in a movie like Terminator 2 or a show like the Chronicles, I put up with the kid.

I love children. Just not annoying ones... and often not boys.

I'm a bit skeptical about this new one but Bale hasn't let me down yet so I hope it's a good one.

I love the T movies ... all 3 of them! Not a fan of the TV show, but that is it's own tale. I could not believe they were making T4 and have been very down on the whole concept. After seeing the trailer, I am really beginning to get interested. It really leaves you feeling like that future we are now seeing isn't what the future was in T1, which adds a nice layer of complexity of with the whole changing the past to save to save the future plot line. I still have ALOT of reservations, but I am beginning to warm up to the concept. Bale is a great actor, but the whole time I watched the trailer I felt like it was Batman and not John Connor leading the resistance.
