Default Using the wireless keypad

I bought the wireless keypad for ps3 and I have some questions, being new to the little gadget.
1) How long does it take for the keypad's battery to fully charge?
2) Is there a way that you can check the battery level for the keypad?

1) When you plug in the USB (same as controller) the LED's on the unit will flash, after about 2hrs or when the LED's quit flashing it will be fully charged.
2) I think the center button that selects between keyboard and touchpad shows a window in the top right of your TV screen and it has the battery indicator similiar to the Controller's indicator.

Is this thing worth getting? Or would a USB Keyboard and mouse be a better purchase?

I love mine. It's so easy to use, a lot better than I thought. I can just clip it on / off for chatting or simply keep it on. It doesn't really bother me at all when i'm playing but I take it off when I know I won't be needing it. The touchpad works surprisingly well.

Yes I love it but be prepaired to correct your spelling sometimes. Buttons could be a tad bit bigger

I assume such a keypad is good for apps such as Home and to send messages but does it have any other use ?

The keys are the smallest that I have ever seen. Smaller then on a cellphone. It's meant for your thumbs. It's made very well. The touchpad mode is very good. I bought mine mainly for use in Home and text messaging.

It depends on the size of your thumbs. It was a big letdown to me as a lot of times certain keys I thought I pressed were not inputted. The butons are too small to me, even smaller than Blackberry buttons. Besides the fact that they should have made the keys like a Sidekick 3, I wish they could have used a much better type of rubber / silicone to hold the keyboard in place thats implemented on the clip part of the keyboard and also to have a backlit option for when its dark like Apple does with there Mac Book Pros. Luckily, a friend of mine had a spare brand new keyboard and gave it to me. My 7-year old loves it though as she chats all the time.

I too also just recieved mine on Christmas and so far, so good. Hell, I'm even using it right now. Touchpad needs a bit of getting used to though.

I've used mine to write a post to this site, it does take a bit of getting used to but I'm glad I've got it.

The shortcut buttons for Friends and Message seem a little pointless though! Don't forget to read the instructions first to calibrate it!
