Default Question about Infinity Primus P362

Fry’s is having Infinity Primus P362 sale - $258 for the pair. I listened to them and they were warmer compare to the Polk Rti8 (the other sale unit I was concerning). However, the demo was only music and the Fry’s sale guy would not put in a movie for me to compare. 99% of the usage would be watching movies. How are these speakers in a cinematic environment?

If this matters, the speakers will be plug into Onkyo 875 and it would be placed about 12-14 feet from the listening position.

Thanks

I've never actually been able to demo the Infinity speakers you're referring too, but i can say that you cant go wrong with the Polk RtI series. Seems like everytime i've been to Fry's they have that same set of Primus towers on sale, with plenty in stock while the RtI's sell like hotcakes. But again, i haven't been able to demo the Infinity's but i have the RtI's. Go in to Fry's and demo both to see which one you like better.

Both are quality speakers - and what I have learned (IMHO), is that a speaker thats good for music - will usually sound good with HT. Consider what you are listening to for music: Imaging, depth of the soundfield, spot on location of a singing voice-placing instruments in time and space, dynamics (from soft to loud). These things are very critical in the cases of Classical, jazz, and acoustic performances. They are also important in HT. I'd pick the ones I liked musically and build a HT around it.

Thanks to all that responded to my inquiry.

After listening to Infinity again and comparing with other speakers, my top choice at the moment is the Polk Rti A7 (I will continue to try other speakers).

Fry’s is having Infinity Primus P362 sale again - $258 for the pair. I am still going to go with RTi A7 for the fronts but what about having the P362 as surrounds?
