PS3 games worth purchasing

I've been trying to shop for a game for my ps3 for months now, and I've realized there really aren't any exciting games out. I went ahead and purchased Resistance 2 and I didn't really care for it. (good thing it was used, i can return it and get my $ back). If you guys know any games that are worth purchasing let me know. I've also thought of buying on of these games..

Tomb Raider underworld
MK vs DC
Smackdown vs Raw 2008
LOTR conquest (releasing next week)
Street fighter 4

I think the new game that I want that is releasing soon, is the new Resident Evil 5. I think that would be a game worth purchasing. Games these days aren't as exciting as it was when we were younger, like PONG! lol.

I hope you were kidding about games not being as exciting as they 'used to be'. Games are as exciting or more just because of the advancements they've made not just with graphics but gameplay as well. Things are only going to get better. As far as games, I personally am giving the wallet a rest, at least until K2 comes out in just under 2 months.

Yeah I'm serious about games these days. I'm into anything, just something fun. Back in the days, we couldnt wait for the new Mario, Tomb Raider game, MK, etc... These days it's all about the graphics and less gameplay. I'm into sports, FPS, and action/adventure. The games they have today are pretty much the same games back then. For example, Uncharted, isn't that Tomb Raider but with a male. I have 13 games at home, the only games I really play is COD 4 and 5. C'mon! let's bring back real games!

MLB the show 08 was awesome
COD 4 was awesome, COD 5 was ehh sub-par.
I have Midnight Club LA and well ehhhhhh.

I hear uncharted is good and the new Tomb Raider. I don't care for Resistance, it's pretty much like Halo but for the Ps3. I can't wait for the new MLB the show though..

See, you are setting yourself up for dissapointment straight from the gate. Uncharted is nothing at all like Tomb Raider games and is about 76 times more polished. Seriously, the old Tomb Raider games were terrible, even upon initial release.

What didn't you like about Resistance 2? I thought R1 was decent, but not much better than that. R2 though I found to be a very solid and quite fun experience. The encounters are really great, backed by some pretty excellent AI and lots of neat weapons. Sure, the storyline is very basic, deriviitve, and predictable---but its an action game. The focus is the gameplay and the encounters.

Also, did you try the co-op mode? Because its pretty great! Its really tough and forces you and your teammates strategize and work together better than many games out there.

You also mentioned some older platformer type games, so give Ratchet and Clank a shot. Its got more of a shooter focus than even the Jak series, but its still a platformer at heart and its quite a fun time.

Little Big Planet (oh man the MGS4 DLC for LBP rocks ) is a great choice for platformers.


If you like the CoD series, you should seriously give Bad Company a try. The single-player was suprisingly entertaining and the multiplayer is very addicting, with a very different feel from CoD. That high dynamic range sound is really awesome, too.

Absolutely, Unchartered has more action and the combat mechanics are much more fun than Tombraider. That being said, I'm half way through Tombraider Underworld and I think this too is an enjoyable game. Much more puzzle orientated though.
