What do you buy what for??? I use to buy everything for 360 and then would buy PS3 exclusives for my PS3... but now Im starting to lean more to the PS3 and thinking Ill start buying everything for my PS3 and just exclusive for the 360....
Curious what every one here does? |

I have a PS3, and my girlfriend bought a Wii so I don't really have a choice on what system to buy what on.
If given the choice (and it's a game I'm buying for me instead of my girlfriend) I'll always prefer the PS3 though. |

Love to hear peeps thoughts on why they prefer the PS3 or the 360... from a gamers stand point... as opposed to a tech stand point... you guys like the online better with one over the other?

PS3 for multi-platform (or PC if the DRM is not draconian) and 360 if that's all that's available.
It's a matter of peace of mind for me. I mess with my PS3 all the time and have no fear of it coughing up it's guts. I can't say that with my 360. Every time I even turn on the 360 I'm thinking "Is THIS the time that's going to give me the RROD?" I got my 360 shortly after it launched (as a gift), but I probably have less than 100 hours of play time on it. |

1. I'm a big online gamer.... and for me... the XBL is a great online system that I've been using since 2003. The 360 really improved it and made it even easier to make a friend's list full of the kind of people you like to play with... who like the same types of games as you. I only have a few hours to game 4-5 nights a week. I'd rather spend that time with people I've played with forever.... than looking for new friends in a new community. I do have a few friends from XBL who have PS3's now.... and several are doing a good job of making me want to play Socom. 2. The PS3 controller bugs me. I HATE the triggers.... and I'm a shooter girl so for me that's a big deal. Most PS3 shooters use the top trigger for the fire button... and for me that just feels unnatural. Also the pressure sensitive triggers on the 360 just feel better to me. The PS3 does have a much better d-pad.. but in most of the games I play the d-pad is only used for item selection anyway. Ben heck did an AWESOME mod where he put the guts of a PS3 controller into a 360 controller... and if I could get something like that... I think my PS3 would see more game time. 3. I have never been able to get my PS3 to keep a stable internet connection. I REALLY think it has a bad networking card... although I've tried ethernet and wireless. I've tried two different routers, entered my network settings manually, assigned it a static IP, put it in the DMZ zone of my router, opened the proper ports... and still I get a DNS error that randomly boots me off PSN... and a near constant DLNA error when I try to stream media from my home network. |

I have indeed two systems so I am targeted by the question and entitled to answer this thread yessssss !
Ok so I have a Wii cause I love the Zelda games, the Mario Games (the big ones like sunshine, galaxy ... not the party games) and the Metroid Prime games as well as a few others. Then I also have a PS3 cause of the Bluray, the HD graphics. I don't go exclusive for one or the other machine, I just buy the stuff I like when it comes for whatever machine I have. |

![]() Love the PS3 controller as well as my hands are symetrical. I'm fine with either though aside from the 360's dpad is craptastic as can be.. Seriously how hard is it to get a good d-pad, Nintendo did it how many years ago and MS still can't get it right ![]() PS3's analogs have better sensitivity as well leading to more precise gaming and simply a better experience ![]() For somebody with both I'd just buy whatever more of your friends will play it on. Aside from friends you will not have trouble finding plenty of gamers on either system. MS simply charges you where Sony provides fantastic online gaming for free out of the box ![]() Last edited by Monkey; 01-06-2009 at 11:04 PM. |
