Default PS3 compatible MP3 players?

What, if any, MP3 players/devices are compatible with the PS3?

My PC is out of action so l would like to transfer ripped CD's ( in MP3 format) on my PS3 to an MP3 player, and vice versa.

Sounds simple, is it?

Does it have to be a drag and drop player, like many of the cheaper ones?

I'll have to rip CD's using the PS3, exporting the songs to an MP3 player is a priority, so ipods etc. would be useless.

Hmm. I didn't even think about the special software required on some players. Look for a player that is basically drag and drop the I suppose. Maybe a USB MP3 Player?

This is right. The only issue is the PS3 won't "see" the files because of the folder structure of the player. Just have the PS3 search the players drive and you will find all of your songs.

So... It will recognize an ipod with the default ipod OS?

I thought it wouldn't do that.

I've never tried but maybe I'll go check.

Checked.... I can find and play the songs but the titles are very different so I have no idea what song I'm selecting. The folders are called stuff like FOA and there's no way to know unless you memorize stuff or know how to translate.

Doesn't matter to me though... If I'm near the PS3 I'll just put in the CD and go with that.

Normally the software used to transfer content from your computer to your MP3 player is just so you don't have to go through the weird file names to add the music. Once you find it though, and after you have added all the music you want to your PS3, all you have to do is select the songs or all of the songs in the folder and do the copy function and it will transfer songs not already on your MP3 player unless you so choose that you want the songs to be overwritten.

I can copy music from PS3 to Sony Ericsson C905 without problem and of course PSP.

iPod doesn't work though; it's Apples proprietary file system (nice one) that screws it up. Most MP3 players should work though.
