Default Front/sub setup options

Hey all, had a question about setting my frontspeakers and sub through my receiver. I have a Yamaha RX-V663, two JBL front speakers, and Polk PSW10 sub. The JBLs each have a 6.5 inch woofer, 4inch woofer, and a tweeter (1 inch or3/4, don't know for sure). The PSW10 is a 10" sub. SO... just wondering whether to set the fronts to small or large... and then whether to set the LFE output to just "sub" or "both". Right now I have the settings on "Large" for the fronts and "both" for the LFE output. It sounds good to me, but I wanted to make sure I had things set up properly. Thanks in advance!

Pics of said speakers can be seen in my gallery if that's helpful.

As soon as you introduce a sub to your system, you can set the fronts to "small". No point in trying to get a 6.5" woofer to push out the same tones your sub will deliver, with a lot less effort. The front's woofers will respond much faster to tones above 80Hz, making for cleaner output, too - they're not wasting time bouncing around doing the sub's job.

The sub should be set for "both" if it's taking sub tones from both channels in 2CH Stereo mode.

So when you set it to both low frequencies come out of the speakers and sub
I have on my sub Bypass and in the reciever set to 80HZ

I have my all speakers small. and my sub out set to SWFR, doing both can be overhelming at times i find and give boom, but each there own.I say play with it,But to each there own

With 2 channel set your speakers to large

read this it help me alot and it could help you as well

Ok, thanks for the input. I guess I was looking more for info on what each setting does, which both of you guys have nicely explained, rather than what specifically to set things to, which is how I phrased the question. You guys have both helped a bunch so far. If anyone else has more advice, keep it coming... I am continually trying to increase my knowledge on this stuff. I'll play between the settings tomorrow to see how it all sounds.

Just a little fact off topic.
Did you know in 1991 Mirage set a new benchmark for low distortion and development of the worlds first pure titanium hybrid tweeter featuring a titanium dome with cloth surrounds.

Just Wanted to add a little history with this thread while mentioning about JBLs and there Titanium tweeters
