Default movies are choppy

Hello everyone! I own a Sony BRPS350 blu ray player and was watching the mummy and the video is choppy like it pause every split second on the movie. Does this mean the player is defective? The firmware is up to date. I tried other discs and the something happens. Is there a setting that I need to change?

Thanks

is the audio affected at all, or does just the video look choppy?

What is the spec of your computer?
Download and install BD Advisor and see if you need to upgrade anything. http://www.cyberlink.com/prog/bd-support/diagnosis.do

I don't think the OP is using a computer.

OP, can you verify if your TV/Blu-ray player is configured for 1080p/24? Are you using a 1.3 certified HDMI cable?
