Default Some good Docs on blu?

I'm on the lookout for some really good documentaries on blu-ray. I already have Planet Earth and noticed that When We Left Earth has had some good reviews, including the recent one on this website. Do you guys have any more recommendations?

I liked Galapagos - narrated by Tilda Swinton. I've been there (was even on the radio for an interview) and they hit all the animal and terrain highlights. I just wish they would have shown what life is like for the people there. Tough place to live.

Good recommendations so far (Baraka and Galapagos).
I also have and really enjoy:
Dolphins (Greg MacGillivray)
and I have pre-order Greg MacGillivray's Hurricane on the Bayou

I hope Adventures in Wild California gets released on blu.

Helvetica was really good. It made me think about something I see every day but didn't know anything about.

Was this an IMAX feature showing the degradation of the Bayous and the Katrina footage?

'Galapagos' IMO has even better PQ than 'Planet Earth' and is just as interesting.

March of the Penguins is pretty good. Morgan Freeman is a good narrator.

I totally agree. though its kind of puzzling considering Galapagos is in 1080i.

some documentary reccomendations...

STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE - very interesting look at the Abu Ghraib prison scandal in Iraq from a few years back. great PQ (i see this one as rent though - not much rewatch value)

GANGES - this is a good one because its not just a nature documentary but also spends a lot of time on the people/culture surrounding the river and how they effect eachother

The only one I own which I wouldnt recommend is STEEP. Im a huge skiing buff and i thought this would be packed full of outrages footage, but its mostly a borefest...which is why I ordered Warren Millers Playground from the amazon 2 for 3 sale. cant wait!

The Universe is okay as a science documentary about the planets but picture quality is only decent. To be honest the second season of the show is better but it has not come out yet on Blu-ray.

The four volumes of the Discovery Atlas series are very good.
