Default High End speakers with expensive speaker cables.

What gives the idea of using expensive speaker cable when the inside of the speaker cabinet are being used with regular cheap thin speaker wires. What goes through monster cable, for example, thinking of us using these thick speaker wires when its crap wires inside the cabinet in the first place. Just something I thought about on my way back home.

You would be VERY surprised (and disappointed) with the internal wiring used on MANY very popular and mainstream (a few with "high-end" associations) speaker companies.

I meant the inside of an expensive high end speaker cabinet.

depends on the definition or an example of a 'higher end' speaker you mention.

If it is truly a higher end speaker, i highly doubt they'd skimp out on the wiring.

Nonetheless,i wouldnt consider it a bad idea to reduce the chances of having a mediocre speakerwire from your amp go into your speaker anyways. why would you want to use a 21AWG speakerwire towards the speaker, and then complain about the intricacies of the speaker.

I'm a big fan of flat solid-core speaker cable.

Oh, and I've opened my speaker up because I had to install new tweeter housing on the center. I was very impressed with the internal parts and workmanship.

Because it really doesn't matter over the very short distance.

The resistance of a wire is a combination of materials, wire gauge, and cable length. Since the goal of good speaker wire is to transmit a signal with minimal resistance, when you have a long run thicker wire is better because the resistance is less (which offsets the resistance added by the cable being longer). If you have a very short wire run (like from a speaker terminal to a crossover) then the wire can be very small and still have an extremely low resistance to it.
