Default Pioneer PDP-5000EX Price

I have the chance to pick this up for 810.00. Is this a good deal for a plasma that is 2 years old?

Just make sure the warranty is transferable. Some are not.

The PDP-5000EX is the exact same TV as the PRO-FHD1, the first 1080p Pioneer Plasma. (Note that it is a monitor, not a TV).

That model was originally intended to be sold exclusively in the European market, but apparently too many were produced, and several ended up being shipped to North America.
You may recall that the FHD-1 was $10,000 when it first came out; subsequently reduced to $8,000.

It's replacement was the PRO-110FD ($6,000), which was succeeded by the current PRO-111FD ($4,500).

If it's brand new, then $810 is a steal!

Plus, since virtually no one has that model, it will have an air of exclusivity to it!
